[FR] Yo, bitches!

« Where is Jessyca Hyde? »

« WHERE THE FUCK IS JESSYCA HYDE? »

Dear Channel 4: I love you and if you want to send me a DVD or stickers / goodies of Utopia I shall love you even more.

I’m gonna tell you right now that I shall not be absolutely objective on this review but I don’t give a damn. I am in love with the series Utopia launched in 2013 on the British Channel 4. To describe this series is impossible as it is so much complex and powerful. What is necessary for you to know: it is a black, dark series, full of new developments. But especially for me this series is a masterpiece and reached my top 3 of all the series I’ve ever watched. I let you see here the astronomical quantity of series I watched: http://www.betaseries.com/membre/Twinsen/series (do not hesitate to add to me as a friend).

« Where is Jessyca Hyde? »

This series is a masterpiece because it knew how to make me question myself inside by putting me instead of the protagonists and by telling me « actually I would have made as him » or « ah no I would have made not at all like that ». But one or another, we ask ourselves questions which touch real social problems although supported by certain points of irreality. Usually little inclined to the British series (I don’t like the accent), I have to say that I exceeded this blocking and took one of the biggest wow of my life. Thus at the moment I was only speaking to you (without speaking to each other about it) about the plot aspect.

But where Utopia hits hard it is also due to the quality of its camera which offers us an image with a spotlessly clean bead!

But if I speak about Utopia here it is naturally for its soundtrack which is an element perfectly anchored in the series. From the intro we take a blast in the face and throughout 6 episodes we find an atmosphere as never previously. After viewing the first time the entire series I said and assumed the following words: « this series is the heiress of Breaking Bad ». Breaking Bad which is a series to be absolutely seen, inevitable, cult.

The problem of this OST which Cristobal realized is that it is extremely complex to describe. 28 titles are present where the general atmosphere is the industrialist and a kind of « suspense ambient », it is no term which really exists but needs to say that his music is particularly new and rare especially for the television.

« WHERE THE FUCK IS JESSYCA HYDE? »

We are bewitched by these tones and particularly the voices used at times. Many slow musics / in suspense compose this album but we are also in the presence of tones very rhythmical as we find in the intro of the series.

Can we appreciate the OST without having seen the series? I think so but the magic is much lesser.

My favorite passages are the ones with voices in the back which speak or the choirs which are really very beautiful (but I would not know how to certify that they are actually choirs). The passages which I would qualify of groovy are very cool also. The album itself does not mean much, the genius lies in a single thing: the perfect symbiosis between the music and the video.

Didn’t you understand yet? Well I put it to you in image! And I slide you here the fact that I want very hardly this badge if somebody wants to offer it to me I send him or her some big ♥ ♥ ♥ !
